"The marker is your friend"

Done in art class. I have to say I was pretty dedicated to this assignment considering I cannot stand black marker. My favorite is the contour hand drawings.

Australian shepherd

For the 'Twilighters'

This one is a picture of a friend whose head I cropped into the picture. I drew both on cardboard. Sorry about the shadow across the middle

These are some drafts I did of the Twilight movie characters.
Not so sure about the whole vampire thing, but he is pretty good looking.

Marker......my worst nightmare

draft of a negative photo.
Marker is my least favorite medium EVER, probably because you can't erase anything.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This has nothing to do with Thanksgiving. Just figuring out how to use painter on the computer.

The Doodles from Girls' Camp

This is old, from earlier this summer. I sat on the edge of this small river by our campsite. It was probably half an hour of drawing before my sketchbook got a little wet. That's why this picture is blurry but it looks kind of cool.

Cat and Fish

I think I really need some critique on cat drawing, but it's a little difficult to draw something you don't like.

Michael Phelps pencil drawing

I have never had a crush on a celebrity or athlete but I think I'm a little obsessed with Phelps. I drew this the morning after he won his 8th gold medal. It's still not finished yet. This is probably one of my favorite drawings I've done of people.

Elephant and baby

I really hate drawing standing up... The baby elephant had this creepy smile, I can't remember if I fixed it or not.

Black Arabian horse

This started out as a really good looking horse until i tried adding the dust, which is the big black blob behind it.

Giant giraffe sketch

This is a picture of my drawing it was about 10 times too big for the scanner. I think the giraffe spots are my favorite part.

Skeletal hand

I used some anatomy books I got at the library to draw this. I love medical stuff. Yes I'm a total nerd.

Inky Fish

These fish were inspired by the doctor's office, because there are giant posters of drawings of fish. And you're already feeling sick and the poster says "100 fish and a cat" or something like that. Then you end up straining your eyes to find the stupid cat, and you feel even more nauseous. But I hate cats anyways. So I have been drawing lots of fish in protest.

Curly hair

Some random person I made up, but it kind of looks a little Marilyn Monroe-ish? I just drew it as an excuse to draw curly hair.

Another Self Portrait: Profile

This is just without a flash. So it looks different.
Another self. I used an older picture to look at.

REAL Art Pencils: Sketch of young girl

This is my first sketch with graphic art pencils. This took about 10 minutes to finish, because i was going about 90 miles an hour so I could hurry and get my idea on paper. Once again, this picture really does look different with a scanner....

Pen Doodles

As creepy as this may sound, I really like watching people. Although I am nowhere near getting old, I started worrying about growing up. And I know older people don't have this kind of hair, I just exaggerated a little bit.

That's right, I finished this bear just for you Cade!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

For my grandma Glenda. I have been trying to draw this picture for a while and I will post it as soon as I'm done.
I hope you have a great mother's day and remember that I love you very much. And for the next 24 hours you are not allowed to clean, cook, or even get out of bed. (That's why you live with Chris and Papa, they can do everything for you.) I miss going on road trips and getting lost in Texas, because your sense of humor and patience made it easy to survive.
Also, this playlist is just for you.
Love you Grammy,
Casey

Fish and Ship at Sea

I used a pen and doodled some waves.

African Lion

Lately I have been sketching a lot of wild animals...from Africa. I guess it's a phase.

African Elephant Sketch

Quick sketch: I used the "Drawing Animals" book from my art class. Because I hate ripping out stuff from my sketchbook, the scanner cut off the left side.

2007 Poinsettia Painting

My first watercolor project from around Christmas.

Rainbow Cheetah

I drew this on a black thick cardboard. The purpose of this assignment was to reverse the typical drawing method: it takes more effort to color with white instead of black. I used the basic prismacolors and it was too big to scan...which is why the flash of the camera shows more of the flaws

John Wayne

John Wayne.

Mermaids

The typical redhead Disney mermaid
Just doodling
I'm not too good at drawing from my head. There's an occassional picture that I like, but then I never finish it anyways.

My Grandpa, before he was.

Camera Picture
Scan
The difference is the scan doesn't pick up the shading as well, but the picture makes it look orange. This is my grandfather as a young(er) boy. The mouth isn't exactly the same.

Moody Fish

More fish. Doodles with a fountain pen and colored pencils.

Elvis?

Well.....sorry I didn't do it justice.....I realize now Elvis is a pretty risky person to draw. This was a quick sketch of a black and white photo. Not my favorite piece.

Sloppy Fish

Quick sketch. I am obssessive about drawing fish.

Of course this one has yet to be finished.

Sad Doll

This doll of mine was brought back from Mexico. We had a lot in common when I drew this. I was sick, and hadn't brushed my hair in a few days. She looked pretty sad, and it was my fault I neglected her hair as well.

Five-Minute Fairy

It took exactly 5 minutes to draw this fairy, just from imagination. However, in those five minutes, it never once occurred to me that it might not be considered a fairy..... without wings.

Crayola Pencil Superman

After

Before

Coloring scares me to death, so I took a picture of Superman before I ended up ruining him.

Rock

Found this picture in a shoebox of family photos... I did this in about half an hour to avoid organizing those photos.

Falling Apple

I should have been studying science during the time I drew this, specifically Sir Isaac Newton. I used prismacolor pencils. Well, it's kind of a "thank you, apple."

Aretha

Aretha Franklin. I drew this the same day as Audrey Hepburn and Elvis. I went through a "even though I wasn't around during that time, I still love these people" phase. I think I broke the artist rules and used mechanical pencil on this one.

Lots of Dots

My first attempt at pointalism, last year.
It's Norma Jean....aka: pre-"Marilyn Monroe"....
